According to research, women are in great need of an ego boost as statistics reveal on the 10-country survey two-thirds of females aged 15 to 64 will disengage from normal activity if they feel badly about their looks.
Worldwide, one in four women has passed on a social event, one in five has shunned physical activity, and others have avoided joining a club (18 per cent), going to a job interview (16 per cent), or hitting the beach (29 per cent) because they experienced discomfort with their looks. This is TERRIBLE NEWS!
Have you seen “big” Lizzie slashing our screens this week? What a fantastic giant breath of fresh air this young courageous woman has given us. Being happy within her skin, the voluptuous model Lizzie Miller has become the face of real woman and real beauty. With over 1000 readers giving a standard ovation on her bravery when letting it all “hang out”, this kind of idolisation on the ‘real’ human body gives huge hope for woman in need of today.
The Dove Self Esteem Fund is too finding new ways to help woman love the skin there in. The fund is designed to act as an agent for change, educating and inspiring young people to embrace a broader definition of beauty.
"The extent to which girls and women are changing their lives to accommodate how they feel about themselves is really alarming," says Sharon MacLeod, spokesperson for the Dove Self-Esteem Fund.
Let’s get on board this empowering project and help encourage one another to find inner peace with ourselves. Image consciousness is getting in the way of life and life is too short to not enjoy all of its wondrous pleasures!
