beauty sleep

Shockingly, when young women can’t concentrate, are falling asleep in class and start failing exams the finger can be pointed in most cases to one direction: lack of sleep.
In a poll released by the National Sleep Foundation, it confirms that many of our nation's adolescents are falling asleep in class, arriving late to school and feeling down due to lack of sleep.
In an interview on ABC with DR Chris Seton from the Westmead children’s hospital on the sleeping patterns of adolescence, the main blame was targeted at the strong use of technology such as video games, television and the computer, keeping young women awake.
Dr Caroline West, reporter of the interview stated: “As a teenager, lights were often out by 10pm. But try telling children that in the digital 21st century. Many of the teenagers I know are still up and buzzing at 11pm or 12pm and then they're expected to be up at 7am, bright and early, ready for school. Now, if sleep is food for the brain, then many young Australians are in danger of brain starvation.”
Children, Youth and women’s health service’s state that 14-17 year olds need 8.5 hours of sleep a night to maintain a healthy sleeping diet. They also mentioned that many parents are unaware of their teenage girls lack of sleep and are putting their lack of energy and grumpiness under the ‘puberty blues’ category.
Obviously, this idea of ‘beauty sleep’ can be taken quite literally. Young girls ‘beauty’, (physically, mentally and emotionally) is at stake if haywire sleeping patterns continue. So, dream the night away precious beauties ‘cause it’s just what the doctor is ordering!
